HORNETS CAME HOME.

Delaware State's October 10 return brought a parade, alumni fellowship and a 34-0 win. The weekend also brought serious off-campus news.

The return, preserved in photographs

Delaware State's October 11 photo report looks back on a homecoming Saturday built around a parade, Hornet football and alumni fellowship. Its original galleries link the football game and campus reunion with gospel, performance and alumni-concert collections.

The royal celebration began earlier in the week. DSU's October 6 report confirms that Nia Dooley and Awasung Nkwa Moma were crowned Miss and Mister DSU for 2026-27 at the October 4 coronation. The university's original gallery links the ceremony's photographs.

The reported aftermath matters

The weekend cannot be represented only by the celebration. In an October 11 report citing Dover Police, Delaware Public Media said an off-campus shooting at Dover Commons shopping center left one man dead and another injured after Saturday's homecoming. The report said neither victim was a Delaware State student.
