Southern University and A&M College / Homecoming 2026
THE BLUFF CAME HOME.
Southern's October 3 homecoming brought the Jaguar family back to Baton Rouge. The celebration filled the week, even as UAPB took the game.
The return was bigger than Saturday
Southern's 2026 homecoming had a full week behind it by the time the Jaguars reached A.W. Mumford Stadium. WBRZ's October 3 reporting traces the return through a pep rally, step show and block party, then onto campus for tailgating and the walk toward the stadium.
That coverage puts the people at the center of the weekend: students, alumni and supporters making their way back to the Bluff. Football anchored Saturday, but the week gave Jaguars several places to reconnect before kickoff.

A fast start, a tough finish
The Jaguars opened the homecoming game with scoring drives and held a 10-7 lead after the first quarter. Arkansas-Pine Bluff took control from there and won 41-10, according to Southern's official game recap.
The result belongs in the record of the weekend alongside the return to campus. Southern's homecoming coverage captures both: a difficult Saturday on the field and a Jaguar community that spent the week coming home.
